The congrats go strictly to the filmmakers and producers and writers - I'm on the education team and cannot take any credit for the amazingness of the film! Carlton Ward and his team just created something so stunning and relevant. Here is the activity list (often interdisciplinary and free!):

I love that these recommendations based on evidence have been formalized into the lecture. It makes me feel like the few minutes of lecture time and LMS space I've given to it is not enough and I should expand in future semesters.

I'm working on redesigning the lab curriculum to try to empower students to be able to work/learn more independently. Right now I have to be "on" and actively teaching the entire time. A better lab manual would really help, so I guess I'm writing a new one in my free time. lol.

I have 75 min lecture immediately followed by 2.5 hour anatomy lab every day and when it's over I could literally go to bed until the next day. I feel ya! :-)

If only there were these advanced technologies that allowed us to teach remotely so everyone could be present and not be out on the roads in dangerous conditions. But alas, that would be considered canceling class and required me to use PTO. Sigh.

samesies. I stuck around a little longer on Mastodon so I came into BSky at just over a million. And yet it still felt so small (and still sort of does).

Wow...in the 6 digits!

Maybe one thing we need to teach them about devices is how to operate without them when it's appropriate? Self-discipline doesn't just happen, it takes repeated practice. Setting boundaries and applying age-appropriate rules to device/internet use seems like exactly what educators should be doing?

It seems a bit selfish for someone to hold students beyond their established class time. Maybe I'm not understanding.
