Even if you only care about putting away bad guys you should fight questionable convictions. The hunt for the real bad person(s) stop once there is a conviction. Innocent people in jail means real murders/rapists/etc on the streets.

Did they ever arrest the person who actually committed the crime? Or is it just a shrug “as long as we execute someone for the crime it’s ok?”
