Government published a list of Cabinet Committees today. There’s a new European Affairs committee, chaired by the Prime Minister. With ministerial responsibility for EU/European relations split between the Cabinet Office, FCDO, & Business & Trade, could be the key body for co-ordinating efforts.
35 years ago today, 70.000 people took to the streets in Leipzig calling for more democracy & freedom of speech. It was the largest protest ever seen in former East Germany. The peaceful march inspired more protests across the country and a month later the Berlin Wall fell.
