There are still bones all over the floor 😂 But yes I appreciate the hairwash - and the kneeling, given the realistic dad-noise he makes when he kneels (realistic joints as old as the first awakening of the Eldar...)
This has to be a Chuck Tingle book
Exactly. I was Wednesday but grew up to be Gomez. HAS THE PLANET GONE MAD??! I SEEK JUSTICE. DENIED!
We know he always kicks the body twice to make sure
But anyway, yes. People who wield power over others are almost never good people. Kind of by definition...
LotR values loyalty, but it feels infused with English peasant forelock-tugging - eg Sam to his Master, and reverence for elves. Apparently Tolkien's notes hint at more awareness, tho. I always appreciated the orcs' surly contempt for their 'betters' - the other authentic side of English peasantry!
That clowning put me off season 1. I hate Star Wars for the same combination of tedious nerd lore and tiresome muppet clowning. Whereas I rather liked Andor and The Mandalorian for committing to tedious nerd lore OR muppet nonsense!
I only listened to the audiobook, and my memory is mostly visual, so I can't remember who anyone is even while I'm listening. Just a load of obnoxious guys, plus a talking dog...
Yes! I think he made black armour! And then I assume it was kind of battered but salvageable at the bottom of the cliff...
Season two has devastating stories of intimate-partner violence& coercion, and survivors' shame & ambivalence, wth Sauron justifying becoming abuser, & Galadriel's cruel comment to Adar about failing to resist abuse, etc. Refusing to do rape scenes for titillation wasn't taking the soft option here.
