I had some busy freelance years and noticed that it did not allow more free time than a part time job, so now I try and prioritize that and only really apply for jobs that I would not feel obligated to take. I think my stress was needing to make money out of art, so I couldn’t say no to jobs. (2/2)

It’s difficult, but what I’ve found helps is to avoid any client that needs a short deadline unless it is a company contract. I try and get part time jobs with very flexible hrs so I can practice. The most stressful is the application/rejection cycle so I apply to few jobs. (1/2)

hmm hard but to me the business side of it really gets me. So I try to work at it like side income. Besides that, trying to draw in a style and expectation that is quick and easy for me. If I find myself taking a piece too seriously I drop it.
