RSA should be STRONGLY advocating for better road designs for people walking/ wheeling/ biking + calling for much better enforcement. We feel they're too car-focused and don't get the bigger picture -Reducing car use is what will really help road safety, as well as public health and congestion. 3/4
We feel the RSA as it's currently working doesn't address the needs of vulnerable road users. 2/4
For comparison with that pic of MetroLink station, here's the bike parking outside Groningen (pop. about 200k) rail station, in the Netherlands...
We understand City Council are working on a public awareness campaign to educate users of these junctions about the flashing amber (i.e. pretty please don't squish us) ...and the continuous footways across e.g. Shamrock Terrace. May their efforts be spectacularly successful... 😳
