Finality of verdict is more important than someone innocent's life.

Aren’t the clemency powers provided to Governors/Presidents supposed to be the mitigation/counter to the potential failings in the legal system? Either those in that position don’t understand that or it is a damning verdict on society that allows, nay demands, they ignore it.
