Same. I don't think that's a valid justification for rejection; as an associate editor I frequently ask 20 people to review and don't stop until I get 2.

anything sounds smoother than the process we have been through with this ms. It's a really nice paper - I am biased - but has been tricky going. The student who has the lead on this paper has remained positive so far, thankfully.
They have a pretty good group of "recommenders"... Some journals may accept their reviews, but I guess others may also want an extra opinion.
We were surprised they didn't give us the option of helping them find reviewers, but I am not sure it's worth appealing over that. I was thinking that PCI Ecology might be a good option, as their recommendations can be used when submitting. Thoughts?
