One on left is TSOP (slim package) and one on right is SOP (fat package). The newest games for GBC released around 2000-2001 are probably the slim version. And you need a programmer too like GBCartRW. Sorry I said TSOP you actually need the FAT chip for Jrodrigo's mod.
If you want to attempt one, you could use JRodrigo's TSOP adapter board (Tindie store) and solder an AM29 chip to it. The 32MB ones are super hard to source, as they are old stock. Maybe you can find a 16MB one on Aliexpress for a good price. You need a donor with a TSOP chip (slim), not SOP (big).
