Doesn't seem hard to get BGG players to play prototype games on Tabletop Simulator, so that could be a cheap way to test materials with hardcore players. My real concern is finding players who AREN'T on BGG. It's hard to test a rulebook if you only test with people who can deal with bad rulebooks.
