So whenever an Anabaptist group turns up on a true crime show it's weird for me because inevitably I'm going to be listening to folks with a non-Anabaptist background explain what it's all about. Like this explanation of non-resistance which is... like, sort of correct but also not?

Like first of all they make it sound like all Mennonites are the same which... this is a group that calls themselves Mennonite because that's their origin but actually the official denomination organization is Nationwide Fellowship Churches. They schismed in the 1950s/1960s.
