I'm stuck on the v in moved being a piece of cheese. I think more thought was put into that decision than any of these books.
We can't just tell our nervous system "we're safe now," & have it stick. We need to show our nervous system, again & again, we're serious about creating personal safety-- by refusing to attack, shame, or abandon ourselves, even when our old conditioning is pressuring us to do so.
There are moments when I remember why I hate people so much, & one such moment happened while I was watching The Menendez Brothers. Fuck everyone who laughed at victims of abuse & then continue to patronize people who understand why they did what they did.
Fuck this misogynistic bullshit. As someone who has been very open about my issues with my dad, I have gotten this shit from many people over the years. My dad did not ruin men for me. The shitty men that I have dealt with professionally have proven their shittiness through their own actions.
