“DeNiro dislocates consistency from authenticity and celebrates the act and art of revising our understanding of ourselves, our pasts, and our world.” - @ecbarrett.bsky.social on OKPsyche. Go read it!

"Banning LLMs is classist" is something that has been pushed on us in education for months at this point, this is absolutely a coordinated PR campaign and not NaNoWriMo being a sole bad actor. It's also a giveaway that none of those people ever cared about classism before.

THE JAGUAR MASK is prowling onto bookshelves everywhere and today on Mary Robinette Kowal's blog, @michaeljdeluca.bsky.socialmaryrobinettekowal.c...

Screenshot collage from the My Favorite Bit blog on Mary Robinette Kowal's website. The title reads "My Favorite Bit: Michael J. DeLuca Talks about THE JAGUAR MASK." Body text reads: “This is a book about the masks coming off, the masks we all wear all the time when we go out into the world and onto the internet to interact with other people in different contexts, the masks that shield our soft, weird inner selves from the harshness of scrutiny being pulled off, peeled away, layer by layer, to reveal, finally, the faces we see in the mirror, the faces we see when we think of our inner selves, the selves we want and desire to be, capable of the things we dream about.”

Also in the new issue of SH, @ecbarrett.bsky.social@tenebrouspress.bsky.social - a novel that generates its air of menace from “the horrors of an industry built on violence and greed”.

From the Belly by Emmett Nahil
From the Belly by Emmett Nahil

Through much of this novel, it seems the sea’s revenge could be avoided if the crew of this whaling vessel just stopped.

1. US law forbids arming military units accused of gross human rights violations 2. Calling for a ceasefire and calling for the end of selling weapons to the side doing the preponderance of the firing? Same goalpost. 3. Didn't say it was simple. The post is about letting Pro-Palestinians speak.
