i'm sure it's already been posted everywhere here, but in case everyone isn't aware, Internet Archive has been breached, exposing 31 million password hashes, emails, and usernames: www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/securit... change your passwords, y'all - these bcrypt hashes won't last forever!

i wish we were more standardized on one spec. things are messy when you have tons of systems (and tech debt). i'm lucky enough to have joined with most of the knowhow already in place, but i still wish we could just train on one standard. i'm currently T2/NOC/whatever :) director of broadband, sick!

it depends. if we are providing internet direct to a customer's router, it's either DOCSIS over coax, or Ethernet via copper - fiber to the home is rare in our case, but happens. If not that, it's per-unit dedicated Wi-Fi + Ethernet in apartment buildings.

in all honesty, i'm a technician at a medium sized ISP. we just don't care, but especially cell carriers are heavily incentivized to throttle that content to save airtime on cell bands, because bandwidth and FCC licensing for that bandwidth is expensive and hard to come by. but you're not wrong lol

Sincerely, one of the best things about BlueSky is that I can say "Holy shit, this hurricane is unprecedented, looks like climate change is afoot" and I won't be dealing with knuckleheads who want to debate that.
