(though there are way more PoE examples than a single bsky post would allow to mention in detail - Act 5 uprising, the whole Legion league, and possibly few others i've missed because i dropped PoE a few years ago)
Also, there are a few missed opportunities in PoE: - In story, one NPC mentions that vipers and monkeys hunt each other. They never do it mechanically. - Act 2, again, has three warring factions of bandits. There are never more than one of them in any location so you never see them fight.
More games need EvE (environment vs environment) HL2 puts several races against each other (Combine, zombie, human, antlion). In Path of Exile there are Sol vs Lun battles, or guards against ribbons. It's more fun and immersive if the player isn't the only target. Would love to see more examples!
the only thing i can think of when i see "cacio e pepe" is when my gf decided she's gonna cook some tiktok recipe and accidentally filled my kitchen with pepper gas (she forgot she was frying pepper on a pan)
