Bluesky is funny because I can’t recall any other platform where its growth is explicitly tied to the collective hate for one person.
If you're a Twitter artist worried about how you'll be discovered without An Algorithm™, you gotta go back to hashtags. Like how people found posts on Twitter before IT had an algorithm. Think about what communities/subcultures your intended audience belongs to, and hashtag
I know if you're freshly arrived from Twitter, actually useful, functionable hashtags that *don't* suppress your posts and actually *increase* your discoverability must feel like a foreign concept by now, but we have them here, they rule, and you should use them!
btw for everyone joining bsky today but worried about trying to find their friends from back on twitter: ✨ sky follower bridge ✨ is an extension on chrome and firefox that lets you sort through your following on twitter to see if any of them have associated bsky accounts
Reminder about this. Freely share you links in the actual post! You don’t need to do the whole “link in bio” or “link in next post” thing or cryptically spell things out (which is also annoying for people using screen readers).
