Once again, for better or worse, Harry Potter remains a key part of my childhood. I acknowledge that it made my childhood awesome and that I owe it a debt as an author. However, I also acknowledge the intrinsic harm JK Rowling causes with her words and attitudes. This is my solution. /3

Please respect my decision to keep them in storage and don’t ask me to “go a step further”. This is my compromise, out of a personal debt, to a book series that, for better or worse, impacted my childhood in such a way. My belief in equality remains unchanged and should not be beholden to a book. /2

Yesterday, I made a painful decision: I removed all 7 entries of the Harry Potter books, as well as Tales if Beedle the Bard, from my bookshelf. I no longer sympathize with nor agree with Rowling’s attitude. However, I didn’t have the heart to throw them away. I out them into storage boxes. :( /1
