The Knight Enchanter is the closest to that yea! You get a light saber like skill that you can spam in melee, but you should still mix it with casting spells because they empower the sword! It’s a fun gamestyle imo!

Damn, I like the idea of a Melee mage, I do that a lot in tabletop RPGs. My next character in Dragon Age will be that and that's it
