It was a paid holiday kermesse at the end of the season, on the Dutch Antilles island of Curaçao, organised by Leo van Vliet who also does the Amstel Gold Race, hence Amstel Curaçao Race. It was mostly a dolphin-photo-op fest with emaciated cycling pros in swimming trunks.

It's like the modern day Curaçao race :)
