They still reuse props all the time, but we've had big budget sci fi since that for props to be obviously recycled from (b5 with 2001 space suits, firefly with starship troopers infantry armour are pronounced ones)

This isn't hard. If you hold a rally timed with an anniversary of an atrocity, you are either doing some mix of commemorating the victims and protesting the perpetrators, or you're essentially supporting the perpetrators, even if you haven't figured that out yourself.
