hear me out. A slow growth themed growth drive based on the trope of dragons never stop growing. Showing a dragon reaching their second puberty that unlocks this gene and have them grow ever larger. Not the first dragon to have this but the world is prepared for this.
I do like doing growth drives occasionally!
Not all dragons have the gene either as there's probably dragons that could have different tropes that are also genes dragons can be born with for their second puberty
