just looked it up: in current canon, nothing of note really happens with Vader's saber; I don't actually recall what happened to it in old canon, and I had always assumed it was either left on the Death Star or burned immediately
Oh damn. I remembered that all wrong. Tbh I liked mine better. Why not use Vader's red saber for good? There kinda hard to come by
