NZ Fella here, most of the industrialised world doesn’t understand the US medical system. It seems designed to cripple the healthy with costs & extract the most wealth from the sick injured & dying
It could be coming to the UK soon. 😠
Yes. It's not *really* interested in helping anyone, just shareholders. Like every other business in the U.S.
That assessment isn't limited to the medical system
Spot on
A perfect summary. It is hell to navigate. I spend at least 20 hours a week of unpaid labor navigating for one family member with complex health needs. God help us if one more med becomes a “controlled substance.” God help us if another family member goes down.
That pretty much sums it up.
The American health care system supports its investors not its patients.
I know people working in public health all their life who don’t understand. It’s designed not to be understood. Administrative complexity and opaqueness are huge issues.
Mmm hmmm, yep.
Nailed it! I worked in the US system for three years doing extra training and couldn’t wait to get back to Canada. Our single payer system has a lot of flaws, but I’ll take it any day that patients know what’s covered.
