yeah I guess I was making an only tangentially related complaint - not denying that various bad nerds have real power or that they’re really nerds, just that there’s a flavor of reaction to newly powerful shitty nerds that I think is overgeneralizing/overcorrecting

yeah we’re several years into “nerds suck actually” being a common talking point in online spaces, and at least at first that was 100% “I, a nerd, can recognize the nerd-specific forms of sucking” and now I’m like… maybe some of the people saying this are football players and cheerleaders actually

there should just be an impact fee to fund affordable (or public) housing that is uniform across construction types! or ideally, in a world without Prop 13, an ad valorem tax)

I really hate IZ requirements that only apply above a certain number of units. It encourages sprawl and reinforces classist assumptions about where low-income people should live. I understand why midsize projects are exempt but IZ is a flawed policy to begin with
