Rust Developer: Hey, what's the semantics of this struct inode* return value? Linux Maintainer: Guess :) Rust Developer: Uhh... Result<Either<ARef<INote<T>>, inode::New<T>>? Linux Maintainer: Wrong :( You will never force me to learn Rust :D
thanks, i'm glad you enjoyed it --- that was a lot of fun!
to be fully transparent, both @jamesmunns.com and i have been way too busy with Real Work and stuff to put much effort into mnemOS lately...
we do, at least, have some amount of a plan for how it would work. but there is a *lot* more owl to draw
at some point it would be cool to put back an actual userspaceā¦
mnemOS can run Forth programs that you write yourself at the Forth console, but only if those programs donāt do anything interesting. :)
if you want a weirdo Rust OS that can run at least some actual software, maybe consider redox-os.org ā they are aiming for POSIX-compatibility and are *probably* mature enough for some kind of vim and git experienceā¦
1) no 2) lol, lmao
