Anyone here ever moved to another country? Do you have any advice?

Get in contact with some local (mutual, friend-of-a-friend...) who will show you the basics and tell you the critical things to know.

1. Scout ahead for neighborhoods and such. Google maps and advice can only take you so far. 2. If there’s stuff to move, hire a moving company—and splurge on it. And start early. 3. If you’re moving things, rent furnished for ~a month so you can move things into the final apt comfortably.

Where are you moving to?

Came here from Romania. Moved as a grad dtudent though, so that's a bit of a different experience from moving as a professional adult.

personally I have an extremely much easier time when I go places where I have a sense of being invited, rather than places where I "push" myself in
