Writing is a verb. A specific action not to be confused with the aesthetic of being a writer. Whatever else you're doing to secure the vibe of a writer or to exist in writer spaces, you actually have to write.

Also "said" is fine. Adverbs are fine. Virtually none of the popular bite-sized prescriptive wisdom about the correct way to write actually means anything. Go write your shit.

Also, writers deserve a treat. But they often have to treat themselves, which is hard when you are your worst critic and a 300 word day seems like failure.
