Mystique is a lytic phage that's genetically similar to a few other A. baumannii phages, but structurally it seems to have more in common with wildly different phages. Mykhailo Kopylov and Daija Bobe did some beautiful work on the structure
In addition to looking cool, Mystique also has a really quite impressive host-range. We tested it on the MRSN diversity panel for A. baumannii + a few other AB strains (n = 103), and it can infect an astounding 91.3% of them.
