Damn, I have to wait seven years to apply for this “punishment” of a year off from teaching at half pay, or as we call it “sabbatical.”
The University of Pennsylvania has finalized its discipline against law prof Amy Wax: suspended from teaching (at half-pay + benefits) for a year, loss of named chair and summer pay, public reprimand, must make clear she's not speaking for univ or law school. Had already lost ability to teach 1Ls.
Penn said the hearing board decision came after Wax engaged “in years of flagrant unprofessional conduct within and outside of the classroom that breached her responsibilities as a teacher..."
And I'm guessing her full pay is somewhere nearish $250K so half pay is more than most of us make anyway.
bet she's not "allowed" to serve on university committees either.
What was she getting summer funding for?
