It’s a great way to scare people into evacuating. I can see being twenty-something and deciding for myself I wasn’t evacuating, but if I thought I needed to write my kids’ names and Socials on their backs I would lose it. We would evacuate.
It was startling to see the warnings on the highway signs before Ike. "You will DIE."
