The screenshot sounds like a "gotcha" but like, yes, that is the point. Dystopian fiction is the way of showing privileged people how horrifying it would be if the things they do to others were done to them. Also a way for marginalized people to point out the horrors we see & ask for action.

Like, we use fiction devices *for a reason*. I think a lot about Octavia Butler and how her work just showcased reality in a new light. When you're marginalized, reading dystopian fiction is often nodding along and being like "ah, yes, someone finally acknowledged it"
