I think your idea could be a way of inspiring passion. Industrial nations need to really see the future, (although we are seeing glimpses now), and see it clearly so we give up our need to consume so much, and use up scarce and nonrenewable resources. We sustain capitalism at the earth's peril.

One of the saddest images I've seen lately was of baby penguins frozen after they fell into meltwater that later refroze. But will these images be enough to overcome our unwillingness to make profound lifestyle changes?

And therein lies the problem, imo. We are very selfishly refusing to give up our over-consumption. Yet profound change is urgently required, in every aspect of life imaginable
