I’m also of the mindset that characters make the story. The world building and plot can all be phenomenal, but the story will still fail if it has shallow and undeveloped characters.

And also I’ve had an idea for a *generic fantasy world* with elves, dwarves, gnomes, goblins, orcs, humans, dragons, etc… But in 1940’s era levels of technological advancement and heavily themed off the idea of a global fantasy war (2).
