For sure! I've helped organize two hybrid conferences, and a fully virtual workshop series, and they were demonstrably better in MANY WAYS. I'm thinking at the moment about people who feel like they have to travel and who don't yet have pull.

I get it. I hate those massive conferences now. I see their value for networking, jobs, etc for junior faculty but we must come up with a way & advocate for better options. I was asked why academics (tiny percent of polluters overall) clamor about this: bc we should lead by example & teach others
