Primaries are generally smaller there's greater exposure to 'leadership' quicker. The gender bit is interesting but more complex than a SM post can do justice without becoming trite. I was made PE lead almost immediately because I was 'the boy', as one colleague put it, and no one wanted it.
1) Mat Leave/mum-guilt 2) Confidence/imposter syndrome 3) Male-dominated/masculine focused perception of what a leader ‘looks’ like
Is equality needed? Surely that should be the first question - is this a matter of choice? Also, from what perspective is the equity being looked at?
Dismantle the patriarchy!
