We had two experiments. Both had prediction errors. One had contextual stability. Event segmentation was present only around stable contexts. Prediction errors were not sufficient to drive segmentation. This is against the influential event segmentation theory.

Our research suggests that contextual stability emerges as a significant factor in event segmentation, shedding new light on how our minds organize and make sense of continuous experiences. We're eager to hear your thoughts!
