Republican political strategists: "Hey, our authoritarian behavior toward women's reproductive rights is costing us support. Let's try getting support by highlighting a different authoritarian behavior." I'm not a political strategist, but I'm dubious about that approach.

Their pitch to white women has long been letting them have a taste of sadistic power (though not what is offered to men). But yeah, I don't think the women who dislike Trump will find that appealing.
