Check out this solarized SEM of the neural tube lumen with added hedgehogs! In our latest work from the @labogden.bsky.socialwww.cell.com/cell/fulltex...
And its not just SHH! We also found loss of cytonemes by loss of the actin motor protein Myosin 10 also impaired Wnt signaling gradients in the neural tube.
Here we identified long specialized filopodia carry Sonic Hedgehog from signal producing to receiving cells across tissues in developing mouse embryos. Disrupting cytoneme formation or loading of signaling proteins into cytonemes affected normal neuronal pattering.
