On the new Covid boosters: Since CDC gave them full approval, by law health insurers have to provide them for free. So don't let your insurer get away with any charge to you!
What about the pediatric doses that are still EUA?
I was denied by insurance from getting it at a pharmacy, but they said they’d cover it from a doctor. Of course, doctors don’t have them yet. I assume the loophole is they’re not technically denying coverage, they’re just allowing it only in a scenario that doesn’t exist.
I was able to get mine at rural Nevada Walgreens today, but there was an issue with my insurance. Apparently they had not authorized coverage of the vaccine yet. The lady at Walgreens bypassed something in their system and I got the vaccine with no charge.
Almost got one today before CVS cancelled bc they hadn't arrived yet!
Hoping for Novavax!!
Do you have any information on why the pediatric doses for under 12 aren't available anywhere yet? We heard from our state health department that those haven't even started shipping yet and won't for a week or two but they didn't have information on the source of the delay.
Got mine yesterday, for free!
The challenge is actually finding them in practice. In Colorado, I've asked Costco & Safeway pharmacies - both have said that it will take longer because it's going through the normal, longer supply chain.
And here is the info for uninsured to get these free www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pro...
Availability appears to be a problem. Two days ago, I checked with CVS - the "nearest" pharmacy that had it might be 10 miles away, but it is a 1-1/2 hour ferry ride to get there, and another one to get back. Today when I check, nothing. I try a place an hour from here, and they have some.
