How sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 showed a person infected with 2 different variants directly transmitted a novel recombinant (hybrid) to another person in the hospital setting www.thelancet.com/journals/lan... The first time such an event—origin of a recombinant variant— has been documented
So here’s another reason we need clean air and FFP3 masks in hospitals: TL;DR: bringing different strains of virus together in one place lets them swap bits of code around giving them even more opportunities to make more successful viruses.
Is there an easy way to preserve an air sample for let's say 7 to 14 before sequencing SARS-CoV-2? Would i require a special sampling method? A specific conservation or storage? Any advice would be very welcome
Wow! Awesome!
And people judge me for masking in public
That looks super interesting. I wish I was smart enough to understand what I’m looking at.
Absolutely bonkers to observe that. Like a game camera catching a snow leopard riding a snowmobile.
