I wrote for Newsweek about my experience miscarrying in Texas after Dobbs. Democratic erosion and authoritarianism aren’t abstractions happening elsewhere—my story & that of countless other women are reminders that they happen every day in Texas & in other states. Polisky Gendersky Academicsky
The pain is so blinding that I think I'm hallucinating. After Dobbs, lawyers, not women's lives, are now the overriding concern.
I had two abortions in NY 35 years ago, bc the fetus had Tay-Sachs, a fatal inherited condition that killed my 1st child. The experience of having to end wanted pregnancies was devastating, but at least I did not have to suffer the nightmare you went through in Texas bc of the law there.
I'm so sorry this happened to you.
My sympathies for undergoing a horrific ordeal, and my disgust for your fellow Texans, a very large number of whom voted for the people that made this atrocity legal.
I'm so angry you had to go through this.
I’m so angry and sorry. I had a 12-week miscarriage many years ago. No one batted at eye at a D&C. It was simply what was done to treat it. It’s barbaric what is happening in this country (I don’t isolate Texas in this—it’s too widespread).
This is so horrifying. I will never vote for anyone - federal, state, or local - who supports what happened to you.
I’m so sorry, Erin. Thank you for sharing
Then move
I am so sorry and so angry.
Oh geez, Erin. I just saw this. I'm so sorry for your loss.
