The "puke problem" is an issue for all automated transportation. You can never remove people entirely ("puke" is everything from actual puke to accumulating trash to left behind valuables etc..)
This is one reason his "less than bus fare" assertion is completely ridiculous. Either they'll often require significant labor between fares, or passengers will get hit with surcharges all the time.
Imagine being in a vehicle without windows, so you can’t tell when a corner is coming, you just have to experience it without warning, like some steerage passenger kept down in the hold of a wooden sailing ship.
Have taken about 30 Waymo rides. Knowing you’re on camera probably cuts down on the tragedy of the commons. As a passenger I feel safer in these than in Joe Rando’s Kia. My fear is hitting someone else. I live in LA, and I can’t imagine trusting their camera system in a place with precipitation...
