And he needs to say why and how Vance is weird / creepy. I don’t understand why there’s no attack. It makes Vance look more serious and like a peer. Which fucking ancient Dem consultant took over the campaign and told Walz he had to do this? Just unforced error.
“We’re all friends here”. No we’re fucking not
It really feels like since that last night of the DNC, where we were told “this is the night undecideds turn in we need to do unity don’t read into it” was actually an unfortunate bellwether. “Everyone in the base is excited that must mean we are doing things wrong!”
This is turning out to apply to basically the whole debate bsky.app/profile/adin...
Seeing the discussion on guns I see this is a deliberate technique — Walz is trying to teach people who might be tempted to think like Vance, so granting him good face is a proxy for respecting his voters.
I don’t know where these (let’s be honest) coddled boomer operatives —and it’s them not Walz because we’ve seen what he does when no one tries to control him—think they’re getting out of restraining him. So stupid and antiquated understanding of how voters react
All that work winning people over by saying what people think about these guys and just throwing it in the trash. Stop treating Vance like he’s serious and good faith. Hammer him!
Walz is debating like he did debate prep with Pete Buttigieg
