WP Engine taking a GPL'd project and almost completely freeloading off of it is very much what happens when free software meets capitalism and I don't think they come across looking that good here either. But the license allows it, so… 3/3
Matt also seems to think that WPE bastardized WordPress, an open-source project… by changing the code to meet their needs. I'm sorry, what is the point of licensing under an open license if you're just gonna trash people changing the code? No one forced you to GPL WordPress. 2/
In the WordPress vs WP Engine drama there are no winners but all of the Internet gets to be the losers. Matt is absolutely out of line with how he cut off WPE without warning though, sorry. I'd normally side with the FOSS project but they absolutely should've given warning. 1/

For how carefully crafted Apple's image is, I'm absolutely *floored* by how terrible Siri continues to be compared to the competition. Everyone else has improved and Siri feels like it's still roughly the same as it was pre-Apple purchase. (It was great for its time! Not so much now.)
