First, some key concpets: Luck: An event that is significant and out of one’s control. Luckpilling: Helping someone accept the taboo truth that everything is luck. Moral luck: when someone is treated as deserving outcomes that result from luck.

My view is inspired by a combination of Nagel's formulation of the problem of moral luck, combined with non-Western approaches to the problem of personhood. It is a fellow traveler with free will rejecting positions like @greggdcaruso.bsky.social's quarantine approach to criminal justice reform.
