I see you, Circle Cinema. #EmmanuelLittlejohn#Oklahoma

Ad for a movie event at Tulsa's Circle Cinema on the day the state of Oklahoma killed Emmanuel Littlejohn for a crime someone else had already been convicted of. The ad reads:

Okie Film Nights & Sisters of Cinema Present: Clemency
Thurs 9/26 at 7:00pm: Okie Film Nights presented by Experience Tulsa and Sisters of Cinema are collaborating for a special screening tonight. See Tulsa’s own Alfre Woodward in the powerful prison drama “Clemency.”

After the film, Dylan Goforth, Executive Editor of The Frontier, will join Sisters of Cinema host Julia Holeman to lead attendees in a discussion about capital punishment. The Frontier’s mission is to produce fearless, independent journalism with impact.

About the film: As she prepares to execute another inmate, Bernadine (Alfre Woodard) must confront the psychological and emotional demons her job creates, ultimately connecting her to the man she is sanctioned to kill.

NEW: Oklahoma killed Emmanuel Littlejohn this morning, after Republican Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt rejected the 3-2 recommendation of the state's parole board that Littlejohn be given clemency. Background at Law Dork: www.lawdork.com/p/five-execu...

Four states have carried out executions in the past week, one remains scheduled for Thursday

Alabama plans to kill a man Thursday whose execution was already botched previously. It would be the last of a bleak week of several executions.
