If you have a moment, please do fill in this survey on international rail from the UK. It would be great to see more journey options on our fixed link to mainland Europe. bettertransport.org.uk/campaigns/in...
We should be able to travel the world whilst also taking care of it.
Yeah but you get to the end and it wants your name and email.
Replied - off on our first Eurostar in three weeks and then our first interrail experience!
Done. 1) Join Schengen (Lille is just an embarrassment) 2) Tax airlines 3) Remove Channel Tunnel safety rules that go beyond standard European tunnel rules.
Armchair consultancy done: Direct to Germany, Direct to Bordeaux, Direct to a Mediterranean hub south of Paris. Also suggested that National Railcards can be used on Eurostar journeys starting in the UK (perhaps wishful thinking - equally happy to see SNCF Avantage cards for journeys from 🇫🇷)
Just filled this in!
The carbon cost might be 14 times less than flying but travel by train at peak times is ludicrously expensive. Eg Skiing last Christmas/New Year over £3k for a family Cambridge-Moutiers Salins. We drove for about 1/8th of that price. Ridiculous pricing!
