Every four years I have a ‘please consider voting for [Democrat]’ conversation with my dad, who lives/votes in a swing state and is conservative but hates Trump. Every time he falls back on “it’s not as bad as you’re claiming.” This year, I genuinely believe he might not be able to say that.

I have the same conversation with my folks every election as well. They're big on the mythical ideals of America and honestly the thing that has most cracked their defenses was talking about how Biden is stepping down for the good of the country rather than his own power/ego.
