16. The Host (2006) - Bong Joon-ho's monster movie. The film's inciting incident was based on a real thing that happened, so definitely has some commentary about the U.S. & South Korea. CG has not aged well. Themes of class, environment, inept & oppressive government response to public health risks.

17. A Town Full of Ghosts (2022) - found footage about an unhappily married couple buying a ghost town & getting abusive/haunted about it. Good set up, some passable performances, poorly executed jump scares. Tired & gross tropes about indigenous people. Not really worth the hour it takes to watch.
