I am saddened to hear about the passing of Pål (Paul) Wessel, who was the chief architect of Generic Mapping Tools (GMT). GMT is the backbone of pretty much all of my work, not just for plotting but also gridding and analysis. agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/...
Paul was always quick to respond to bug and feature requests, which definitely helped me out a few times!
